THE DAY WE MEET A FOREIGNER

We have discussed to arrange an interview with people to get their opinion about mixed marriage in Malaysia. Luckily one of our group members suddenly met with one foreign student in UKM who was pursuing Master in Physics at Faculty of Science and Technology. The guy was very nice to us and agreed to cooperate in our Project. He was from Iran and his name was Mr. Farid.

He also gave his opinion on how to improve our project. One of our group members had interviewed him to hear his opinion on mixed marriage. He shared his opinion on mixed marriage including the pro and cons of mixed marriage. We asked his opinion if given an option of mixed marriage. He was ready to answer our questions and co-operated well. We spent the entire day to finish the recording of interview session in order to get the best results. Fortunately our respondent was willing to co-operate until all the given tasks were done. The conversation recording took place at the third floor pathway around the FSSK but due to unclear voice recording had caused us to take decision to change to another location for this purpose. The recording was carried out at quite a closed area so that the voice could be clearly heard.

We felt grateful, delighted and never had thought we managed to befriend a person from another country as good as him. Warm-hearted, open-minded, and opinion sharing attitude made the all-day-long recording not bored or tired. On the completion of the recording session, we took an opportunity to chat with the Iran student. We got to ask about his motherland and exchanged ideas on a lot of things. He was willing to share exciting stories about his country which flourish our knowledge. We presented some souvenirs to the student as a token of appreciation for his willingness to spend his time to be interviewed.
